2 General Practitioner – Cobar NSW

We are seeking a General Practitioner to replace our outgoing long-term GP who was fully booked at the Cobar Primary Health Care Centre (CPHCC) in Western NSW, working alongside 2 other GPs in a well-appointed, newly renovated general practice.

Cobar Primary Heath Care Centre, a well-established accredited general practice has been in operation since April 2008 under the ownership of the New South Wales Outback Division of General Practice (ODGP).

Our multidisciplinary team of doctors, nursing staff, Aboriginal health worker, social & community workers, allied health practitioners & mental health teams are committed to providing a high standard of holistic, patient centred healthcare to our community & surrounding villages.

The ODGP has an attractive Recruitment and Retention strategy including eligibility for relocation assistance, subsidised rent/accommodation, gym membership, travel assistance including quarterly flight expenses to Sydney return.

Cobar is a small rural mining town of 4600 people with a great community feel, excellent schools and childcare options and sporting and recreation facilities. The Shire's prosperity is built around the thriving mining - copper, lead, silver, zinc, gold - and pastoral industries, which are strongly supported by a wide range of attractions and activities, that make it a major tourist destination and attractive community to raise a young family and enjoy a quiet lifestyle away from the busy city. We have two great primary schools and one high school. There are multiple sports clubs in town for children and adults from Soccer, Cricket, Rugby Union, Rugby League, Swimming, Dance, Tennis, Golf, Netball, Squash and many more.

The re-establishment of air service will enable weekly flights between Cobar and Sydney (and other destinations) which is also a great attraction for those families and clinicians requiring access to larger centres and cities for personal and professional requirements or even weekends away/short holidays.
